Friday Prayers Timing – South Street: 1:30pm & 2:30pm | Amity Road: 1:30pm

There have been many positive reports on sightings of the Crescent moon of Shawwal from various countries across the globe. Hence Eid will be observed on Sunday 24th May 2020.

Due to the current restrictions in place, the Masjid will remain closed. Eid day speech will be streamed live at 9am on our YouTube channel & Facebook.

Can Eid prayer be performed at home?
The obligation of Eid prayer is lifted under current conditions in the UK so there is no such requirement to pray at home. If one was to pray at home then this action wouldn’t be Haram and it is hoped that Allah rewards them accordingly for their intentions. This is based on the Hanafi Madhab.

Anyone who prays Eid based on the views of the other schools of thought should consult a scholar of that madhab to ensure that you are praying it correctly.

What can we do in place of the Eid prayer?
It is highly encouraged to pray the Dhuha (early morning) prayer for someone who cannot pray Eid prayer.

Ensure you enjoy the day of Eid as you would normally do and fulfil the Sunnahs including having a bath, using the miswak, applying perfume, wearing your best clothes, giving charity and gifts especially to your family.
